Elon Musk’s Tesla and its autonomous systems are currently under a scrutiny after last month’s fatal crash. And it looks like such criticism has made him rethink about the excessive automation being used in Tesla’s manufacturing process.

In a recent tweet, he appears to be contemplating his choices. “Yes, excessive automation at Tesla was a mistake,” he wrote. “To be precise, my mistake.”

Musk was actually replying a tweet from a Wall Street Journal reporter that included a CBS story on how his company was under stress to meet Tesla 3 production goals.

Musk even went ahead and called humans underrated. It seemed that musk was probably frustrated due to different problems coming up at Tesla’s factory.

“We had this crazy, complex network of conveyor belts….And it was not working, so we got rid of that whole thing,” Musk has said earlier.

As a result of the ongoing problems, the company has already missed its Model 3 production goals and the orders have been pushed back 6-9 months.

These statements and tweets from Mr. Musk are pretty significant given the fact that he has claimed to gain an advantage over his competitors with his programmable robots. However, he’s known to support regulations in AI field.

In the CBS story, he also took some time to list the personal challenges he’s facing. “I don’t have time to go home and shower and change, so I just sleep here.”
