Apple AirTag is great, but apart from their benefits, they’re also being used to stalk people, especially people with Android devices, as Android couldn’t detect them. Well, not anymore because Apple has released an app called Tracker Detect that does precisely what its name suggests, i.e., if an unknown AirTag follows you for more than 10 minutes, you can play a sound via the app to find it.

Tapping your NFC-enabled phone on AirTag will show you instructions to disable it and remove its battery. Engadget reports that you don’t need an Apple account to start using the app.

AirTag provides industry-leading privacy and security features and today we are extending new capabilities to Android devices. Tracker Detect gives Android users the ability to scan for an AirTag or supported Find My enabled item trackers that might be traveling with them without their knowledge. We are raising the bar on privacy for our users and the industry, and hope others will follow.

An Apple spokesperson told Engadget
