Apple just announced the all-new MacBook Air, iPad Pro, and Mac Mini at an event in Brooklyn, New York. The company also unveiled a couple of accessories like the Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard Folio to go with its new iPad Pro.
Let’s take a closer look at all the new products that Apple has in store for us:
MacBook Air
After a long wait, the updated MacBook Air is here. It comes with the much-awaited Retina Display and TouchID. The bezels are much thinner, and its 13.3″ display offers four times the resolution of the previous models.
The new MacBook Air is powered by 8th Gen Core i5 CPUs and 8GB RAM. There is also a T2 security chip for extra security. Overall, the new Mac has been made more portable with a 17% reduction in size and 10% thinner body.
The latest MacBook Air has a starting price of $1199.
iPad Pro
Apple has launched the new iPad Pro 2018 that is completely redesigned this time. The company has ditched its iconic Home Button to pave the way for a nearly bezel-less design.
The iPad Pro is now available in two display sizes — 11″ & 12.9″ and sports a Liquid Retina Display just like the iPhone Xr. Another major feature is the Face ID that has been introduced in the iPad for the first time whereas the headphone jack is missing.
Under the hood, iPad Pro packs an A12X Bionic which is larger than the A12 Bionic we saw in the iPhones launched this year. Bringing in a new change, Apple has parted ways its proprietary lightning connector and adopted the USB-C type port in the iPad Pro.
Mac Mini
Mac Mini is another Apple product that received a longstanding update. The upgraded Apple device quad-core Intel Core i3 processor that has up to 64GB of RAM and it comes with SSD options of up to 2TB.
It has over 4 thunderbolt ports and support for 10 Gigabit Ethernet. The company says the new Mac Mini has 60% improved graphics performance and works five times better than the last Mac Mini which was released back in 2014.
Like every other Apple product this year, the Mac Mini also has a T2 chip for maximum security. The base model with 3.6GHz i3 with 8GB RAM+128GB SSD has a starting price of $799.
Apple Pencil
The company has also announced an updated version of Apple Pencil to go with its new iPad Pro. The new Pencil now charges wirelessly through a magnetic attachment that glues it to the side of the tablet, and pairs automatically with the device.
It is way better than the previous model which required plugging the pencil in the lightning port. There is a significant improvement in the design with its more minimalistic design.
The Apple Pencil 2 also has gesture controls which allow users to double tap on the pencil for switching tools while making notes, doodling, or using Photoshop. It has a price tag of $129.
Smart Keyboard Folio
The next accessory is the Smart Keyboard Folio that magnetically attaches to the new iPad Pro and acts like a cover that can be folded out into a keyboard.
The Keyboard Folio now includes two angles (like the Surface Pro) instead of one on the existing keyboard. Apple has put a price tag of $179.99 for the 11″ model and $199.99 for the 12.9″ iPad Pro.
