Tata Harrier XT+ Launched At Rs 16.99 Lakh: Gets Panoramic Sunroof
Yesterday, the Indian carmaker Tata Motors unveiled the new XT+ variants of its flagship SUV Tata Harrier with a panoramic sunroof. It seems Tata Motors is on a mission to make premium features more accessible to customers. Just after introducing an electric sunroof in Tata Nexon, it’s the Harrier that is getting even more premium features.
The XT+ trim of Harrier is launched at an introductory price of Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom). These prices are valid only for those customers who book Harrier in September and take deliveries before 31st December. The cost will increase from 1st October.
This is the second major update since the launch of Harrier’s BS6 version in February this year. Earlier, this feature was available in the top-spec variant XZ+, which costs Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Now customers can get the same feature with a straight 1.91 lakh price cut.

Tata Harrier XT+ : Best In Class Panoramic Sunroof
Tata Motors claims to provide the best-in-class panoramic sunroof. Unlike conventional sunroofs, it comes equipped with the following unique features:
- Automatic closure of sunroof after parking or locking the car for enhanced safety.
- Rain-sensing auto-close function that allows it to close as soon as it senses rain.
- Rollover screen with a black coating on Glass to make the journey pleasant on sunny days.
- Anti-Pinch feature, for additional safety.
Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Head of Marketing (PVBU), Tata Motors said, “We are confident that the introduction of the XT+ variant will further strengthen the appeal of the Tata Harrier by giving customers an option to experience a premium feature like the Panoramic Sunroof at an extremely attractive price.”
Other Features In Harrier XT+
Apart from this, the XT+ variant boasts many exciting features like Auto Headlamps, Dual Function LED DRLs, Projector Headlamps, R17 alloy wheels, Rain sensing wipers, and much more.
If we talk about the interior, Tata Harrier is equipped with a Push Button Start, Automatic Temperature Control, a Floating Island 7″ Touchscreen Stereo System with 8 speakers (4 speakers and 4 tweeters), along with Android Auto and Apple Car Play connectivity.
From the safety point of view, Tata has an excellent reputation when it comes to the build quality of its cars. So, masses can rest assured in this area. The car is built on the OMEGARC platform derived from Land Rover’s legendary D8 platform.
Tata has provided dual front airbags and ESP with 12 add-on functionalities, including off-road ABS, roll-over mitigation, Corner Stability Control, ABS with EBD, Fog lamps, traction control, and many more as standard features.
Powertrain Remains The Same
Similar to all other variants, a 2.0-liter Krotec BS6 compliant diesel engine powers the XT+ trim of Harrier. The engine is capable of producing around 167 BHP and a peak torque of 350 Nm. It is available in both manual and automatic transmission options.
Customers can choose from either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Furthermore, there are advanced terrain response modes to get the most driving pleasure in different conditions.
