41% Of PC Gamers Own AMD Processors: Survey
John Peddy research, Antikythera Intelligence and Research, and Wccftech, held a worldwide survey of PC gamers. The survey was conducted on 3.5 million Wccftech visitors to find out what gaming rigs PC gamers own. Shockingly, the study concluded that 41% of PC gamers are using AMD processors.
The joint survey provided people with a total of 26 questions, which resulted in 143,264 answers from 4,477 respondents. The maximum number of responses came from the U.S., followed by the U.K.
A 55-page survey report contains information like which add-in-board(AIB) vendor PC gamers trust the most, their plans on updating graphics cards, and their current gaming PC specifications. You can read the full report to access all the collected data by paying a hefty sum of $5000.
The growing popularity of AMD processors doesn’t come as a surprise because we’ve also seen how AMD is selling more GPUs than Nvidia.
Also, if you look at Steam’s hardware and software survey, then you’ll learn that a decent proportion of gamers are choosing AMD as their processor vendor.
According to Steam’s survey, 25.17% of Linux users were using AMD processors as of December 2019. Whereas, 16.06% of Windows users were on AMD processors in that same month.
However, if you look at Steam’s report, then it’s worth noting that the Windows users running AMD were 19.45% in November 2019, thus showing a decline of 3.39% in just one month.
Nevertheless, there’s no denying the fact that with time, more PC gamers are jumping over to AMD processors.
