iPhone Could Finally Get Android’s Swipe Keyboard, Report
Apple is expected to announce the iOS 13 update next month at the WWDC conference. Now, just like it happens every time, we’ll get to see many new features coming to iPhones and iPads.
But Apple is also reportedly working on one feature that has been there on Android natively for years, and many iOS users have wanted. With iOS 13, Apple could add the swipe-to-type keyboard functionality to its mobile operating system, according to a report by Bloomberg.
As you might be knowing, the feature called Glide Typing allows you to type simply by gliding your finger over the letters on the keyboard. The software figures out what word are you trying to type.
It comes quite handy, as sometimes, you can type faster than you’d regularly do. Also, it’s a lot helpful when you want to type on your phone with just one hand.
On iOS also you do have third-party apps like SwiftKey, and also Gboard, that enable this feature. It’s just that Apple would be making it native this time and it remains to be seen how different it will be.
What’s more about iOS 13? We can expect a new feature, on the likes of Duet Display, that can turn an iPad into a secondary display for Macs. Also, updated Reminder app, WhatsApp-like profile picture and display name options, improved parental controls in the Screen Time app, etc.
There could be a new app dubbed GreenTorch, that will combine the features of Find My iPhone and Find My Friends into one app.
