Samsung Galaxy Android Pie Update To Arrive In Jan 2019: New Features And Updates
Samsung is yet to issue an official statement about the upcoming Android Pie update on Galaxy devices. However, Samsung France has shared insights about the changes the next update might bring.
Given that Samsung is usually late in the OS upgrade department, the trend will most likely to continue with Android Pie too. The discussion revealed that the update won’t be arriving anytime before January 2019.
Let’s take a look at all the new features and fixes in the Samsung Galaxy Android Pie update is going to bring:
The latest Android update on Samsung Galaxy phones would bring some of the existing features on recent flagships (Galaxy S9 and Note 9) to the older Galaxy S8 and Note 8.
One example suggested by Samsung France was the swipe to type feature where space gets added automatically after entering a number.
The second sim for dual sim variants will support VoLTE and VoWiFi on phones. This support is already available on Galaxy S9 and Note 9.
One important fix would be in the camera app and gallery. Previously, all the camera images and videos in the gallery could be accessed through the camera app.
This will change with the Android 9 update and only the recently taken images and videos in the camera folder will be visible in the gallery through the Camera app. There is also a possibility of introducing a floating keyboard for gaming sessions.
Another expected feature would be the ability to read the name and phone number during an incoming call. There could also be a new option for clipping audio recordings and listening to a specific portion from within the app.
There were suggestions for other camera features such as the using the phone’s flash in direct focus mode. This feature also exists on the Galaxy Note 9 and it will be exciting to see how many features from the latest Samsung Galaxy flagship are added to the older models.
