With Samsung settling into its design philosophy like Apple, the Galaxy A55 will feature the same back design, with three individual cameras protruding from the left-hand side. However, unlike its predecessor, the A55 will incorporate an aluminum frame, thus significantly enhancing its durability. Moreover, recent renders suggest that Samsung has raised the volume and power buttons on the side.

Coming to the front, the device would incorporate a center punch-hole selfie camera and a flat 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED 120Hz display, protected by Gorilla glass. However, it is important to note that the exact display protection is unknown at the time of writing.

Unlike other manufacturers, which tend to use Qualcomm or MediaTek chips, Samsung has once again decided to bet on its own Exynos 1480 chip in the Galaxy A55. The chip features four high-performance cores clocked at 2.75 GHz and four efficiency cores clocked at 2.05 GHz, along with AMD’s Xclipse 530 GPU. In terms of raw numbers, the chip scores 1,180 on Geekbench’s single-core test and 3,536 on the multi-core test.

Although these numbers put the chip in the same ballpark as the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, efficiency and heat have always been the main issues with Exynos chips. As a result, we will have to wait until the device is out to the public to know about the heating problems.

In addition to the processor, the device will come with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Samsung’s mid-range cameras are some of the most reliable, and the same can be said for the Galaxy A55, as it will house a 50MP f/1.8 main camera sensor, along with a 12MP 123-degree UltraWide camera and a 5MP macro sensor.

Coming to the front, the phone will house a 32MP selfie shooter capable of recording 4k@30fps video.

Software

As per the latest rumors, the Samsung Galaxy A55 will come with OneUI 6.1 out of the box, running on top of Android 14. This means that the device is likely to receive some of the AI features from the flagship S24 series. Moreover, the phone will also get at least five years of Android updates.

Battery and Charging

It’s no secret that the A series has some of the best battery life out of any phone. The same is set to be true for the A55, as it will house a massive 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.

How much will the Samsung Galaxy A55 cost?

While the official pricing is still under wraps, the Galaxy A55 could start from $400-$449.
