PUBG Season 9 Update: A New Volcano Map Is On Its Way
PUBG will introduce a new map called “Paramo” in the Season 9 update. The volcano map will release on Oct 21 for PC and on Oct 29 for PS4 and Xbox One.
Right now, PUBG has five different maps that offer players unique gameplay experiences. The current selection includes Erangel (urban map), Miramar (desert map), Sanhok (forest map), Vikendi (snow map), and Karakin (badlands map). So, Paramo will be the sixth map in the Battle Royale game.
PUBG Season 9 Changes The Landscape … Literally
The new map, Paramo, features a giant volcano that can be seen erupting in a recent teaser uploaded on PUBG’s official Twitter.
The video shows the scenes after a devastating volcanic eruption. The magma-laden grounds and burnt trees hint that players may have to find shelter to avoid meeting the same fate. Near the end of the short teaser, you can also see a cargo helicopter flying towards the volcano.
Another video on Twitter shows the cargo helicopter dropping a big loot container. If this is the sign of things to come, players might intercept loot containers by shooting the choppers down to the ground.
According to the video’s caption, the highlands of Paramo will have a “dynamic landscape.” Fans should not confuse this new feature with the dynamic weather (present in the existing maps) as the latter only changes weather but not the landscape. How much this new aspect will change the PUBG gameplay is still anyone’s guess.
Although we don’t know much about Paramo right now, some players speculate the new location could be another 2×2 KM map, like Karakin, that was released earlier this year.
A new map certainly translates into a renewed interest in the PUBG community. With Paramo announced as the flagship addition, it will be interesting to see what else PUBG Season 9 brings.
