PUBG Ban Lifted In Ahmedabad After Facing Criticism From Public

Pubg on xbox

For all the PUBG fanatics, here’s some good news! Following PUBG’s ban and all the negative publicity in India, the game’s ban has finally been lifted in the Indian state of Gujarat.

PUBG is no longer banned in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. However, there is no word on whether or not the ban has been lifted from other cities such as Rajkot, Surat, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, and Panchmahal.

To recall, the idea to ban the game in Gujarat was proposed by Gujarat’s State Commission for Protection of Child Rights back in January in the state’s schools, suggesting that the game is a source of violence and an element of distraction for students.

These suggestions, followed by cases (of death and theft) taking place due to the game, led to a PUBG ban in the country that was imposed on March 9 up to April 30, 2019.

However, huge opposition towards the ban has led the city’s police commissioner, A K Singh to uplift the ban and not extend the ban order.

Additionally, it is suggested that the ban took place at the time of students’ examinations in the city and as the exams have ended, the ban doesn’t seem necessary anymore.

For those who have forgotten, the ban led to the arrest of several students in Gujarat who were playing PUBG in the open, under Section 188 and 35 in the Indian Penal Code. In addition to this, PUBG introduced a six-hour limit on the game to curb its addiction.

While PUBG has led to the deaths, arrests, and what not, for many users in India, my personal opinion stands for the game as it all depends on the users’ will and self-control, which can either help users quench their thirst for the game in a limit, or force them into committing crimes.
