Short Bytes: Your Linux system saves the passwords of the WiFi networks connected in the past. This can also be done by clicking a few options in network settings.

If you’ve ever tried to install an operating system, for e.g., Ubuntu Linux, on your own, you might have noticed that you are asked to enter your WiFi password right at the start of the setup. This helps the setup to fetch latest updates and provide you a ready-to-use operating system after the installation. Once you enter your WiFi password, Linux saves it and makes sure that you don’t need to enter your passwords again and again.

The same happens in the case of an Android smartphone. So, if you are not the person who had initially set the WiFi password of the network, it’s very easy to forget the password at a later stage. It might seem impossible to you at the moment but it does happen in the real-life situations.
