At the conference, Musk also talked about SpaceX and how many people view it as a distraction. He said that the U.S. space program is heading in the wrong direction. He added that people are often mistaken by thinking that technology just automatically improves.

“It does not automatically improve. It only improves if a lot of people work very hard to make it better, and actually it will, I think, by itself degrade, actually,” he added.

He further gave examples of the great Egyptian civilization that build pyramids. But, they forgot to do that. Same goes for Romans who build incredible aqueducts.

This is a brilliant piece of advice that anyone can use and be inspired. Inc. has summed up this advice in a single sentence. Here it is:

“If you’re not progressing, you’re regressing; so, keep moving forward.”

So, it doesn’t matter how difficult or easy your goals are, you just need to move forward. It allows you to learn new things and adds invaluable experience.
