Apple AirPods 2 Will Have Health Monitoring Features: Report
AirPods is one of the most popular products of Apple at the moment. The wireless earphones experienced a record sale during the holiday period. Now the Cupertino giant is expected to launch the next-gen AirPods this year.
A new report has emerged from DigiTimes which says that AirPods 2 will be launched in the first half of 2019 and support “health monitoring features.” AirPods were mentioned in a post that talked about how smart wearables are proving a turning factor for the PCB market in 2019.
The report says, “In terms of wireless headsets, Apple is set to release AirPods 2 sometime in the first half of 2019, and the new wireless earbuds with discrete designs to carry health monitoring functions are expected to receive enthusiastic market responses.”
There have been several rumors that AirPods will have wireless charging support and health-related features. However, this is the first time when we have seen rumors arising from a tabloid that closely monitors supply chain. When it comes to Apple rumors, DigiTimes does not have a very credible record.
But, the speculations that the next-gen AirPods will be launched in the first half of 2019 seem credible as the popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also said that the iPhone maker would debut new AirPods sometime in the first quarter of 2019.
About health monitoring features, we are still unsure about the features that could fit in the small-sized earphones. But, it is very much possible if you relate the rumor to Tim Cook’s latest statement where he said, “Apple’s greatest contribution to mankind will be about health.”
