The retail giant is seemingly planning to sell virtual goods, including electronics, toys, appliances, sporting equipment, apparel & home decor, etc. There are also mentions of offering customers digital currency and the opportunity to buy and sell NFTs.
According to a separate trademark, Walmart is also planning to offer physical fitness training services and classes in health and nutrition presented in VR and AR. The company has already applied for the use of its name and logo in VR and AR.

According to Bloomberg, Walmart has also trademarked names like Verse to Home, Verse to Curb, and Verse to Store. It seems like the company is planning to launch a virtual shopping experience. Let’s hope it isn’t as bad as the one they made back in 2017.
Walmart is continuously exploring how emerging technologies may shape future shopping experiences. We don’t have anything further to share today, but it’s worth noting that we routinely file trademark applications as part of the innovation process.

This is not the first time a major retailer has shown interest in Metaverse. Brands like Nike, Adidas, and Gap have already tried to sell their products as NFTs in the Metaverse.
