Samsung Might Release “Z Flip3 Lite” — An Affordable Foldable
The past week was filled with raining leaks and rumors about Samsung’s upcoming generation of foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3, all set to launch in the Unpacked event on August 11. But rumors suggest that we might be up for another surprise in the form of Z Flip3 Lite.
Last year during Z Fold2’s announcement, there were rumors that Samsung might be the first to step into the affordable foldable market, but for some reason, that didn’t happen.
Korean Herald reports that Samsung will be making a cheaper version of Z Flip3, and it will probably be called the Z Flip3 Lite. However, there are no leaks around this so, take it as a grain of salt.
One of the popular display analysts, Ross Young, and other leakers like Tron have confirmed that the model never existed or was canceled a few months back due to the global chip shortage.
Does this mean all hope around the Z Flip3 Lite is now gone? Definitely not. Samsung doesn’t usually surprise us when it comes to phone launches as most details about them are already leaked beforehand, including the price. But you never know, they might surprise us this time.
It is also possible that Z Flip3 Lite might not happen as Samsung would want to drive customers to buy only expensive foldable devices to maximize profits.
What do you think of this? Would you like Samsung to launch a cheaper foldable device for under $900? What sacrifices are you ready to make for it in specifications? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.
