Netflix Tops Among Streaming Services With 13 Golden Globe Nominations
The Golden Globe nominations for this year just got announces, and both Netflix and Amazon have received more nominations than they did last year.
Netflix is leading with eight series nominations and five for films whereas Amazon drew nine nominations for TV series and one for a film. Meanwhile, Hulu managed to get two nominations only.
However, Netflix could not secure the most nominated position for “TV” network as FX Networks got 10 nominations for its shows like Atlanta, Pose, and The Americans.
Amazon is also ahead in the TV series department with Homecoming, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and A Very English Scandal receiving a nomination each.
Homecoming was nominated for Best Drama Series which stars Julia Roberts and Bobby Cannavale. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which won eight Emmys earlier this year, drew nomination for Best Musical or Comedy Series.
A Very English Scandal was nominated for Best Limited Series. Hugh Grant was nominated for Best Actor in a Limited Series, and Ben Whishaw received one for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series. Meanwhile, Amazon’s Beautiful Boy won a film nomination.
