vivo TWS 3e Review
Summary
The vivo TWS 3e offers fantastic value for money by nailing the basics. You get solid earbuds that deliver good sound quality, comfort, and battery life.
vivo TWS 3e Review: Design & Comfort
First impressions matter, and the 3e makes a strong one. The design is sleek, and I’m a big fan of pill-shaped cases—they look better and make it easy to open and close the case with one hand. The earbuds themselves are lightweight, which is ideal for long listening sessions. I’ve worn them for hours without any discomfort.
While I wouldn’t describe the build quality as rugged, it holds up well for daily use. I’ve tossed the charging case into my bag without much thought, and it hasn’t suffered any significant damage or scratches. The matte finish is also a plus—it’s excellent for hiding fingerprints and scuffs.
However, there is one design aspect I’m not a fan of: the lack of a physical pairing button. This omission makes putting the device in pairing mode more challenging, as you have to rely on specific touch gestures.
vivo TWS 3e Review: Controls & Companion app
I’ve had mixed experiences with touch controls on earbuds—some are too sensitive, while others require you to practically hammer your ear to get them to work. Fortunately, the vivo 3e strikes a good balance, allowing users to configure double taps and tap-and-hold gestures on both the left and right earbuds.
The companion app, however, is pretty barebones. While it offers options to change ANC levels and sound profiles, it lacks a full equalizer—an essential feature for those who like to fine-tune their audio settings. That said, the built-in sound profiles work well, with options like Clear Voice, Mega Bass, Clear High Pitch, and Immersive Audiobooks.
vivo TWS 3e Review: Sound Quality & ANC
Budget earbuds often rely heavily on bass to compensate for their limitations. However, vivo has packed some impressive audio tech into the TWS 3e earbuds. The sound profile is well-balanced, with clear mids and highs and a bass that’s present without being overpowering.
Whether I’m catching up on podcasts or zoning out to my favorite playlists, the vivo TWS 3e earbuds perform well for any casual listening task. Even the latency is minimal when watching YouTube videos.
vivo claims 30dB of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which might not sound impressive on paper. But in practice, the snug fit combined with ANC makes the noise cancellation perform way above expectations. The earbuds can effectively block out most white noise. And if, like me, you primarily use your earbuds at home or in relatively quiet environments, the ANC performance won’t disappoint.
vivo TWS 3e Review: Battery Life & Call Quality
Battery life is another area where the vivo TWS 3e excels. On a full charge, I managed to get around 33 hours of playback with ANC enabled. That’s impressive, especially considering that I usually take breaks every few hours. The case also supports fast charging—just 10 minutes of charging provides up to 3 hours of playback.
The call quality on the vivo TWS 3e is decent. You can make calls, and the person on the other end will hear you clearly. However, your voice will sound slightly robotic to them, which is something to keep in mind.
Should you buy the vivo TWS 3e earbuds?
The vivo TWS 3e offers fantastic value for money. While it may not come with all the high-end features, it nails the basics. For just Rs. 1,899, you get a solid pair of earbuds that deliver good sound quality, comfort, and battery life. I’d highly recommend the TWS 3e earbuds if you’re shopping in this price range.
