How To Get Pixel 2 Launcher With ‘Bottom Search Bar’ Without Rooting
Talking about Google Pixel 2, which was released a few days ago, you won’t find many UI features on other Android phones, not even the original Pixel. For instance, the search bar has been moved to the bottom of the screen.
You can download the Pixel 2 Launcher app to get the feel of having a Pixel 2 device. It doesn’t require you to have a rooted device. But there is a little drawback. Since the launcher isn’t installed as system app, you won’t be able to use the Google Now. The launcher can theoretically work with non-Google devices running Android Lollipop and above.
Thanks to XDA’s senior member paphonb, you can use a modified version of the Pixel 2 Launcher on non-Google devices and also use the Google Now panel. Download Pixel Launcher Mod with Google Now using this link (find the link in the attachment).
I installed the modded version on my Asus Zenfone 3 (Android 6.0) but it crashed. The launcher worked fine on Moto G5S Plus (Android 7.1).
