Convert Your Surface 3 into Desktop PC, Microsoft Releases Docking Station
When Microsoft released Surface Pro 3 in May as an upgrade to Surface 2, it was hailed as a big improvement. It had a 12-inch display, improved high friction kickstand, new accessories and longer battery life.
Microsoft has wasted a lot of good money in recent past on non-productive experiments like Nokia X but Surface 3 is all about class. It is a tablet and a complete notebook replacement. It is being called rival to Apple’s slim MacBook Air.
Earlier this week Microsoft released a Docking Station for Surface 3. Right now it is available only in USA and Canada. This is an ultimate accessory for your Surface. It is priced at $199. This Dock Station enriches Surface with a lot of convenience and functionality.
Its main features are:
- Mini display port
- Ethernet port
- 5 USB ports(two 2.0 and three 3.0)
- 3.5mm audio jack
- Power charging
- Security lock slot
With this, you can easily connect any HD monitor, your favorite audio system, a comfortable mouse and keyboard, any printer to add more to your productivity, a LAN cable and a lot more.
The only factor receiving criticism is its pricing surface 3 already costs $799 and adding $199 for a Dock station may not feel like an economic decision to a lot of people.
Still, this dock is a must for Surface 3 owners as it instantly converts your hybrid-notebook replacement-tablet into a desktop PC. Maybe in near future, if this Dock makes money, Microsoft would intend to make it cheaper and accessible to more customers.
