According to the source, the expected device in the works is a fold-out type phone which turns into a 7-inch tablet. The development of the said device started in August last year, and Samsung could put around 100,000 such foldable phones for sale sometime in the third quarter of 2017.
Before you start bumping your hopes. It’s only an assumption. The release mightย be pushed further in time because Samsung, according to various sources, might consider marketability and profitability before putting them in the stores.
LG which has been a rival to the Korean giant is also preparing a foldable phone under its roof. According to an anonymous source, LG could launch 100,000 foldable devices in the fourth quarter of this year. The source also mentioned that the LG’s fold-out technology is better than Samsung’s tech. I think it will be the consumers who will decide it once the devices get out on the market.
