Windows 10’s Your Phone app has been one of many successful attempts by Microsoft to get its apps on Android and iOS devices. However, the tech giant is moving one step further by introducing a new feature in the app. Reportedly, this new feature could allow users to copy and paste data across devices.
Currently, Microsoft’s Your Phone app can be used to mirror the phone’s screen on the desktop and share photos between connected devices. Also, the app lets users reply to text messages and make phone calls via PC. However, Microsoft is planning on bringing more to the table.
According to the latest report by Windows Latest, the Your Phone app is bringing out its latest feature, which could be named “Cross-device copy and paste.” This incredible feature will let you transfer text, and maybe other data, just by copying it from Windows 10 PC and pasting it on your phone.
While Your Phone supports both Android and iOS, it can be assumed the Android might get the copy-paste support first. That’s because of the Your Phone app features have landed on Android before iOS.
Windows Latest accessed this feature using a hack, but they weren’t able to actually use it. However, the description under this option clearly states that metadata will be transferred between PC and phone once the “content is copied” on either of the devices.
Anyway, when this feature officially comes out in Your Phone app, it might eliminate the need for any third-party apps used for the same purpose.
