Xiaomi introduced the latest MIUI 11 update back in October last year. Among several amazing features, one little-known MIUI 11 feature was the new sky filters in the Xiaomi Gallery app. The filters colored the sky and added cloud patterns in the pictures.

Now, Xiaomi is introducing a set of weather filters in the MIUI Gallery app, however this time for videos. As spotted by an XDA Developer in the MIUI Gallery version 2.2.15.12, the feature enables users to add a rain filter and a slow filter on their videos.

The feature, most likely to be called “Dynamic sky filter, produces as realistic results as we have seen with Sky Filters.

Xiaomi.eu activated the feature on a Xiaomi phone and recorded the feature in action. As you can see, the filters add extremely realistic overlays of snow and rain to the videos.

Xiaomi is yet to release a comment on the new MIUI 11 feature. XDA notes that the feature will seemingly only be available for a few Xiaomi smartphones at the beginning, including Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, and Redmi K30 Pro. Moreover, Xiaomi will likely add more weather filters before the Gallery app version is officially rolled out.

A few days ago, Xiaomi introduced a new video editor for the Gallery app in Mi 10 devices. The in-house Mi video editor encompasses all the essential features to edit all types of videos.

We are hoping both the new Gallery features will eventually come on all Xiaomi and Redmi devices, given they do not appear something that requires high specifications to run.
