Xiaomi announced the next-generation MIUI 12 update last month in China. While the beta version is out, an official stable update is scheduled for roll-out to the first batch of devices, by the end of June.

However, this information only applies to Xiaomi devices in China and the MIUI 12 China ROM. It appears, in a few days, we will get the complete roll-out schedule for MIUI 12 Global version as well.

The latest tweet from MIUI’s official account indicates that Xiaomi will host MIUI 12 global launch on May 19th. In the tweet, Xiaomi has asked users to solve a number riddle and remember the answer to be an “important day.”

Mi fans were easily able to decipher the cryptic tweet and came up with the answer 19. In other words, Xiaomi will release MIUI 12 Global ROM on May 19th. This makes sense too, given the last date to apply for the MIUI 12 Global beta program is May 18th.

Apart from that, there are comments from moderators on the Mi community platform who further back up the claim of MIUI 12 launching globally in May. Since the Xiaomi devices in India run the global version of MIUI, one can call it MIUI 12 India launch as well.

The MIUI 12 update comes with a plethora of features, including new animations and UI changes, an animated 3D Super Wallpaper, new privacy options, Android 10 navigation gestures, a sleep tracker, and a lot more.

MIUI 12 India device list will undoubtedly be similar to the China device list — flagship phones getting the update first and budget phones following the suit later.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi is about to launch Mi 10 today, which carries a whopping 108MP camera. So the company might reveal something about MIUI 12 Global release launch at the event.
