According to a recently-released report by Counterpoint Research, Xiaomi leads the smartphone shipments in India in 2018. Additionally, the overall shipment in India saw a growth of 11%.
Smartphone Shipment In India
While Xiaomi is in the first position with 28% market share, Samsung stands at the second spot with 24% market share. This is followed by Vivo at third with 10% market share, OPPO at fourth position with 8% market share, and Micromax at fifth position with 5% market share.
As for the Quarter 4, 2018, Xiaomi again tops the list with 27% share, followed by Samsung with 22%, Vivo with 9%, Realme with 8%, and OPPO with 7%.
Although Samsung came second, it had the fastest growth in the overall smartphone market in the country.
Feature Phone Shipment In India
Coming to the feature phones, Jio tops the list with 38% market share in 2018. At the second position is placed Samsung with 12%, Itel at third position with 8%, Nokia at fourth spot with 7&, and Lava at fifth with 7%.
Jio is the leader in Quarter 4, 2018, with 38% share, Samsung at second number with 14%, Lava at the third spot with 9%, Itel at the fourth position with 8%, and Nokia at fifth spot with 6% market share.
Additionally, the report suggests that overall revenue in India increased by 19%, with the Chinese brands recording the strongest ever performance in 2018.
Furthermore, OnePlus’ Year-on-year growth accounted for 58%, making it the fastest-growing smartphone company in 2018.
