Vinland Saga, based on Makoto Yukimura’s manga of the same name, has been a wonderful anime since its release in 2019. The series was named best anime of the year at the 6th Anime Trending Awards, and it has long been a fan favorite, with a MyAnimeList score of 8.73. The first season aired from July 2019 to December 2019, and considering how it adapts the Slave Arc after the War Arc in the first season; we should predict another 24-episodic series.

Even though Wit Studio produced the first season, MAPPA studio gave the go-ahead for the second at the Vinland Saga 2nd Memorial Movie in July 2021. As we’ve seen in the first season, the plot of Vinland Saga draws on Viking history and interprets it with deep significance. While there is still plenty to learn about the plot and many fresh characters to meet, here’s all you need to know about the anime’s premiere, including its release date and time and where you can watch it.

What will season 2 be about?

In the first season, we saw Thors, an honourable Jomsviking general, killed in unfair fight by Askeladd, the head of a band of mercenaries. It also serves as a conclusion to Thorfinn’s character growth, and manga readers argue that the main saga has only just begun. Season 2 of Vinland Saga will follow the Slave Arc of the manga, also known as Ketil’s Farm Arc.

Thorfinn is enslaved as a punishment for attacking Canute, the new king, and stealing his reason for being by executing Askeladd at the end of the first season. He has only known war as a killing machine fighting for Askeladd. But season 2 will show a different side of him and share the misery of an enslaved person. Canute, on the other hand, wants to create Earth a paradise in his own way, and while he wants to build a peaceful world, he may have a negative impact on the plot.

Season 2 stars Shunsuke Takeuchi as Einar, Yuuto Uemura as Thorfinn, Mayumi Sako as Arnheid, Kensho Ono as Canute, Youji Ueda as Leif Erikson, Hideaki Tezuka as Ketil, Yuu Hayashi as Olmar, Fuminori Komatsu as Snake, Mugihito as Sverkei, Taiten Kusunoki as Thorgil, Akio Ootsuka as Thorkell among many.

That’s it for the article. Vinland Saga season 2 seems to be on of the biggest anime releases for the year. Likewise, check out our guide on the most anticipated movies for this year here.
