Twitter is home to a new prank making the rounds, which is asking users to change his or her year of birth to 2007. However, the joke has repercussions, and Twitter is urging users not to fall prey to it.
The micro-blogging site, via a tweet from its Support Twitter handle, is warning users of the prank.
For those who don’t know, the prank is asking users to change his or her birth year to 2007, following which users will get hold of new color scheme options which are hidden in reality.
However, users in return are getting locked out of their respective Twitter accounts, let alone the receipt of new color schemes.
The reason for the blockage of Twitter accounts is that it is considered a violation of Twitter guidelines that require users to be at least 13 years of age to be a part of Twitter.

Changing the birth year to 2007 would mean the particular user is 12 years old, which would imply he or she is not eligible to be on Twitter, and this would lead to the user account being blocked.
To restore the Twitter accounts, users will have to follow a long process which will require the submission of ID proofs to prove the actual age.
Therefore, you need to be careful if you come across such tweets!
