The U.S. Navy has, for the first time, confirmed that the three videos that allegedly show a UFO sighting are real and the Navy has termed it as “unidentified aerial phenomena.” The three videos in question — “FLIR1,” “Gimbal,” and “GoFast” were released to the New York Times by To The Stars Academy of Arts and Science, an organization by former Blink-182 singer Tom DeLonge.

The “GoFast” video, which was taken from the U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet aircraft, shows an “unidentified” object flying over a surface of the water.

The F-18 Hornet aircraft is equipped with Raytheon Advanced Targeting Forward-Looking Infrared (ATFLIR) pod which is the one of most powerful tracking systems on the market and is fitted with the advanced sensors.

According to the statement by Joseph Gradisher, the official spokesperson for the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information Warfare, “The Navy designates the objects contained in these videos as unidentified aerial phenomena.” [via The Black vault]

Before you start thinking that the U.S. Navy has confirmed UFO sighting, we advise you to read the statement again. The Navy has addressed the sighting as “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP).”

When Mr. Gradisher was questioned as to why the UAP has been used, he said, “The ‘Unidentified Aerial Phenomena’ terminology is used because it provides the basic descriptor for the sightings/observations of unauthorized/unidentified aircraft/objects that have been observed entering/operating in the airspace of various military-controlled training ranges.”

The navy has nowhere mentioned the term UFO, alien or ET.

The U.S. Navy also said that the three videos were never intended for public release as it “declassified” the footage for public consumption.

This is the first time when a government agency has used the term “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena” openly and shows that they acknowledge that there are unidentified intrusions that are violating the aerial space.

With the Area 51 raid date approaching, this confirmation from the U.S. Navy would further bolster the morale of all the raiders. Interestingly, the event attracted a whopping two million people on Facebook who vowed to raid the US defense site.
