Following the first point release of the upstream Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS, UbuntuDDE lead developer Arun Kumar Pariyar has also announced the point release of UbuntuDDE Remix 20.04.
For those who don’t know, UbuntuDDE is a brand new unofficial flavor of Ubuntu, which arrived in April this year and launched its first-ever long-term version 20.04. It blends the power of Ubuntu Linux and the most beautiful Deepin desktop.
UbuntuDDE Remix 20.04.1: What’s New?
UbuntuDDE’s latest point version 20.04.1 includes all updates and bug fixes from the new Ubuntu upstream release v20.04.1. Also, it ships with fixes for BootHole Vulnerability, which affected most Linux distributions using GRUB2 bootloader with Secure Boot.
If you want to read the full list of bugs fixed between Ubuntu 20.04 and 20.04.1, head over to the change summary here.
Along with upstream Linux, UbuntuDDE 20.04.1 has also added its specific changes through Over-The-Air (OTA) updates like the addition of new packages in the UbuntuDDE repository such as deepin-screen-recorder and deepin-topbar.
Not only that, but it has also distributed patches for DDE (Deepin Desktop Environment) and resolved some issues reported in UbuntuDDE 20.04. For instance, time format issues and automatic disabling of Wi-Fi when the machine wakes up from sleep.
Additionally, Remix 20.04.1 has also fixed issues with OS installation in case of enabled UEFI Secure Boot. This means you can now install UbuntuDDE Focal Fossa without disabling Secure Boot.
