Twitter, one of the most popular micro-blogging sites, has launched a story-like feature named Fleets in India which is the third country to get the feature; previously the feature was rolled out in Brazil and Italy.
Twitter keeps adding new features for user convenience. Fleets will be somewhat similar to Instagram Stories; users can post photos, videos, and text that will automatically vanish after 24 hours. People will not be able to post public replies, give likes, or retweet the Fleets.
Twitter India Managing Director, Manish Maheshwari has said that India is one of the most rapidly growing markets of Twitter and they are curious to see how people react to Fleets.
He said India is one of the first countries to experience Fleets and the feedback will help a lot on the global roll-out of the feature.
Twitter Fleets features
To create a new Fleet, the user just has to add a tweet, photo, or video and select ‘Fleet’ to post. The Fleets will show up at the top of the timeline.
The only way to react to a Fleet is via DM or using an emoji. This will also help a lot of people in expressing their opinions freely without getting indulged in retweets and replies on the timeline.
If you are unable to get the fleet option on Twitter, then you have to wait a bit for the feature to be available for you. Fleets feature will be available for both Android and iOS versions of Twitter.
