The Qualcomm 888 5G has been launched officially and we know some of the smartphone manufacturers that will sport the flagship SoC on their Android phones.
The SD888 has an integrated X60 5G modem, designed on the same 5nm footprint as the latest Apple A14 Bionic. The chip also brings incremental upgrades to the GPU, AI, and photography departments. So we can confidently say that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 phones will come with massive improvements over the last gens.
According to rumors, we might see the first Android phone running on SD888 by the end of this year. Here are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 phones you can expect next year.

1. Xiaomi Mi 11
Leakster Ice Universe tweeted a blurred picture of the Xiaomi Mi 11, and called it the first Android phone to run on the Snapdragon 888 SoC. If leaks are to be believed, the phone will come with a four-curved screen design, making it pretty much an all-screen device. The full specifications of the Xiaomi Mi 11 are not out yet, but we can expect it to come with a quad-camera setup, 120Hz or maybe 140Hz display, and up to 12GB RAM.
2. Asus ROG Phone 4
The Asus ROG Phone 4 will be the latest in a lineup of gaming phones from the company. The 2021 Asus ROG Phone 4 is confirmed to come with a Snapdragon 888 processor. Interestingly, this will be the first time we’ll see a ROG Phone without a ‘Plus’ processor. The phone is expected to come with a fluid 144Hz display and a massive battery.
PocketGear made a trailer about the phone and it looks close to what Asus might bring to the table in 2021.
3. Black Shark
One thing about Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 phones is that they’ll be powerful gaming devices. It makes perfect sense for Black Shark to bring the silicon chip to its next gaming phone.
The current Black Shark 3 Pro sports a Snapdragon 865 chip with a massive 7.1-inch 2K+ display. One can pair it with mechanical shoulder buttons and you have a beast of a phone. We expect the next-gen Black Shark to come with a 120Hz or maybe 140Hz refresh rate and flagship specifications.
4. LG V Series
The LG V series has stayed up to date with the Snapdragon 865 chip. Now it’s confirmed that the company will roll out a flagship device with the new SD888. More than that, it’s safe to say that the LG Wing is also better off with a flagship processor to make full use of that second screen and a snappier user experience. For now, the next LG V series is expected to be on the list of upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 phones.
5. OnePlus 9
OnePlus is among the confirmed brands to sport the latest Qualcomm chip. An official video posted on the Snapdragon Tech Summit website reveals that a OnePlus smartphone sporting SD 888 will come in the first half of 2021.
You can expect OnePlus to exploit the photographic capabilities of the new processor. With a clean and well-optimized OxygenOS, it’s safe to assume OnePlus will make leaps in performance using the SD888 5G.
The Moto Edge+ is one of the best looking 5G phones out there. With the release of the SD888, Qualcomm also announced future Motorola devices to feature the chip. We’re probably looking at a second-generation Moto Edge smartphone that will pack the Snapdragon 888 SoC.
We can’t say what upgrades the company will make to the next-gen Moto Edge+, but we’d like some of the improvements. For instance, we would love to see a more streamlined chin, higher refresh rate, and a pop-up selfie camera to make it all screen.
