Recently, Netflix revealed the list of 10 most popular original movies of all time over their first four weeks. Interestingly, Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction takes the first spot with a total viewership of 99 million in its early 28 days.
The Extraction movie was written by Anthony and Joe Russo, the minds behind Avengers movies. The movie was released in 2020 and broke the viewership records on the streaming platform instantly.
On the second spot, we have Sandra Bullock and Sarah Paulson’s Bird Box. The post-apocalyptic horror-thriller was released in 2018 and is seen by almost 89 million households in its first four weeks.
After Extraction and Bird Box, we have Mark Wahlberg’s Spenser Confidential with 85 million views. Whereas, the next two movies holding their spots on the top 5 are Michael Bay’s 6 Underground (83 million) and Murder Mystery (73 million), which stars Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston.

What’s truly incredible is that Charlie Theron’s The Old Guard, an action superhero film that came out just a few days ago, is already on the number six spot. The movie is based on a graphic novel of the same name and has a total viewership of 72 million. So, it’s entirely possible that in the coming days, The Old Guard might climb up on the list.
On the seventh spot, we have Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman (64 million) followed by Ben Affleck’s Triple Frontier, with 63 million views. Finally, The Wrong Missy and The Platform holds the ninth and tenth spot on Netflix’s top 10 movies’ list.
