Samsung has created an advanced piece of tech with the new Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 at the Unpacked 2021 event. But as complex as these smartphones are, it’s difficult to add water resistance to them. The case of Samsung’s foldable smartphone is not different.

But that doesn’t mean the company hasn’t done it. It could be any day when you have to go out in the rain and considering that Samsung has prepared the Galaxy Z Fold3. Maybe, you want to record your friends dancing in the rain or use your device in the shower.

Samsung has released a new YouTube video that explains how the company has made the Galaxy Z Fold3 water-resistant.

Now, why water resistance is a tough job on the Fold3 is due to its design. The device is made up of two separate body components that are joined together via a hinge. So, that means there is a scope for water to seep in through the gaps and damage the internals.

Samsung engineers did all the R&D and used adequate materials to protect the device components from corrosion and short circuit. Galaxy Z Fold3 is rated IPX8 on the spec sheet, which is the top-tier water resistance rating given to devices.
