Tesla Model 3 cheaper

Both Tesla and Elon Musk have been applauded and criticized at the same time for all it has for us. After doing amazingly in Quarter 2 this year, Tesla has another achievement that suggests that its Model 3 is capable of avoiding and sustaining collisions like a boss.

As per the Euro NCAP collision avoidance test by British research firm Thatcham Research, the Tesla Model 3 has scored a five-star rating.

While other car makers such as DS, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, and Škoda also scored a five-star rating, Tesla stood out. The Model 3 was highly appreciated for the number of technologies the electric car comes with.

One of the categories is Safety Assist (ability to avoid a crash) and in which the Tesla Model 3 has scored five stars in the department which is one of the highest Safety Assist scores to date.

The Tesla Model 3 scored 96% in adult occupant protection, 86% in child occupant protection, and 74% in protecting vulnerable road users such as pedestrians.

As a reminder, Tesla’s Model 3 comes with a slew of features such as the Speed Assistance System, Lane Departure Avoidance and Blind Spot Collision Warning, and more.

Tesla’s Autopilot mode was not part of the testing. However, the British research firm plans to take the popular feature into testing in another test by 2020.

Having said that, I am not sure how Autopilot would perform given that it has been previously fooled for driving in the wrong lane. Possibly, Tesla will improve the feature prior to the testing.

Matthew Avery, Director of Research at the firm, has praised Tesla for all it is doing in the EV market and expects Tesla to provide the same features for its older versions via OTA updates.
