Valve has announced that people who pre-ordered the Steam Deck will finally be able to buy it, starting February 25th. For starters, Steam Deck is a handheld console from Valve that will run SteamOS 3.0 (Linux) out-of-the-box.
Valve said that those who pre-ordered the Deck will get an email and have to order it in three days. However, these invites will be released in batches; hence, if you reserved your Steam Deck late, you may have to wait till March or even April to get an invite.
The previous announcement about the Steam Deck was to let people know that the console is indeed running on time and will launch in February, and it’s good to see that Valve is going to meet the goal. Here’s what the giant said in the announcement:
- We will start sending invites shortly after 10:00 am on February 25th, PST
- Order emails are sent in the same order that reservations were made
- You can only order the Steam Deck model that you originally reserved
- Your reservation deposit will be applied to the final price of Steam Deck, and shipping costs are included
