Rockstar Renews GTA 6 Domain, But It Isn't A Big Deal

GTA 5 is considered one of the biggest video games of all time. Every gaming enthusiast around the world has played Rockstar’s enormous title atleast once. However, it’s been years since the release of the fifth edition of the Grand Theft Auto series. That’s why players are desperate for Rockstar to release GTA 6 as soon as possible.

Well, recently, Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar, went ahead to renew the domain registration for GTAVI.com and gtavicecityonline.com. This particular news was enough to make GTA fans excited; however, the truth is that securing a domain name for the game isn’t a big deal.

According to past rumors, GTA 6 might feature Vice City as one of its primary locations. Other than that, some speculations suggest that the universe of GTA Online might expand with the addition of Vice City. That’s why it’s understandable why Rockstar would secure a domain name for Vice City Online.

However, as reported by Games Radar, it’s pretty standard for a game developer to secure domains for their unannounced titles to be on the safe side. Sometimes, companies don’t even intend to use the acquired domain names. So, just like all GTA 6 rumors, it’s best not to take these domain registrations by Take-Two too seriously.

It’s pretty clear that Rockstar is indeed working on the sequel of GTA 5, but the developers confirmed that the game is ‘early in development.’ Also, the fact that GTA 5 is coming for PS5 and Xbox Series X in 2021 with improved graphics makes it clear that Rockstar is nowhere near close to releasing GTA 6.
