Qualcomm’s New Snapdragon 460 To Bring AI In Budget Phones

Qualcomm Snapdragon 460

Qualcomm launched three powerful chipsets yesterday including Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G, Snapdragon 662, and Snapdragon 460. The processors feature various AI capabilities and Qualcomm’s gaming platform. One of the highlighting features of the recently released chipsets is that they support the Indian navigation system named Navigation with Indian Constellation(NavIC). It has been said that the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) had guided Qualcomm in introducing NavIC in the Snapdragon mobile chipset.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor will mark the debut of the high-performance chipset in the Snapdragon 400 series. It will be used in mid-range devices and low-end models. The Snapdragon 400 series can be found in various mid-ranged smartphones including Redmi 8A, Huawei Y series, Moto G6, Realme C1, Redmi 8.

Snapdragon 460 Performance

The Snapdragon 460 processor will improve the performance of the lower mid-range smartphones in terms of browsing apps, loading menus, using the camera. Qualcomm has stated that Snapdragon 460 chipset will bring a 70% performance upgrade in comparison to Snapdragon 450 chipset.

The latest Snapdragon 400 series chipset is going to be a boon for the smartphone gamers who want a budget-friendly smartphone to enhance their gaming experience. The chipset comes equipped with Adreno 610 GPU which is also used in Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 GPU.

As of now, there is no update from MediaTek, one of the major main rivals of Qualcomm,  on introducing a chipset to compete with Qualcomm Snapdragon 460.

Smartphones with Snapdragon 460 chipsets will be available by the end of 2020 as per the company.
