Recently, a new mode in PUBG titled ‘Vostok’ has been leaked. Reportedly, the leaked game mode will be a tournament-style battle royale mode with a combination of elements from popular titles like ‘Teamfight Tactics‘ and ‘CS: GO.’ However, it will stick to the traditional PUBG gameplay.
Even though the latest patch notes do not mention Vostok, PUBG-leak expert PlayerIGN believes that the new game mode will be revealed in the mid 8.3 patch or at the beginning of Season 9.
PUBG: What’s There In The Tournament-Style Battle Royale Mode?
In this mode, players will duel ‘one on one’ against each other. It’s somewhat similar to ‘Auto Chess’ and ‘Teamfight Tactics’ where multiple duels take place at a single time.
As per PlayerIGN, it’s all based on chances. Each player will have three lives, and on losing a duel, the player will also lose a life. Afterward, all players will get turns to go against other players one by one. On losing all the three lives, the players will get eliminated, and the final one standing alive will be the winner.
Similarities With Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
The new game mode will have a lot of things in common with CS: GO. For instance, Vostok will have a system for currency, loadout, and multiple rounds of battle.
At the end of each round, both the players will be rewarded with some in-game currency that they can use to buy or upgrade weapons. Players will also get a bonus based on their performance in the round. Afterward, players can set their loadout before the next round. They will have an option to either upgrade their loadout with the currency they have earned from the previous battles or save the funds for later.
What’s even more interesting is that there will also be a separate store for currency and weapons in Vostok.
To be honest, it will be fascinating to see the feedback this new mode gets from the community once public testing begins. Let us know in the comments section what your views are on this new PUBG mode.
