A few days after releasing the 7.2 update, PUBG Corp. has announced that one of the most famous battle royale games will be free to play on Steam. However, this is a limited time offer, and the game is ‘not forever’ to keep.
You can play PUBG for free on Steam from June 4th to 8th; however, you can buy the game at a discounted price of 50% during that period.
It is a perfect opportunity to try PUBG without paying anything. If you find the game worth your money, you can buy it at half the price. So, we can say it’s not a bad offer after all.

PUBG recently released the 7.2 update to introduce the Ranked mode along with the two-factor-authentication for PC. Both Ranked Mode and 2FA are supposed to prevent the game from dying by getting rid of the cheaters.
However, PUBG also included bots in the normal mode of the game, which disappointed a lot of PUBG players. On the bright side, according to PUBG, there are no bots in the newly introduced Ranked Mode.Â
It’s hard to deny that PUBG is losing its player base, mainly because it is full of cheaters. Also, many players are migrating towards other battle royale games like Call of Duty Warzone and Apex Legends.
Unlike PUBG, it’s competitors started implementing strong measures against cheaters from the very start. Also, let’s not forget that both COD Warzone and Apex Legends are free to play, so players don’t think twice before trying out these games.
So, maybe its time for PUBG to go free, not just for a few days. That is because there are so many people who want to try out the game. But they don’t want to spend money on the game because of all the criticism.
