Xiaomi subsidiary Poco has launched the Poco M2 with MediaTek Helio G80 processor in India. The smartphone is a rebranded Redmi 9 Prime but with several tweaks by Poco. It is priced at Rs 10,999.
The Poco M2 is an entry-level smartphone with a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD display. It has a teardrop notch with an 8MP selfie camera with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It comes with an AI-powered quad-camera setup in which you get a 13MP primary, 8MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor unit.
Packing a MediaTek Helio G80 SoC, the Poco M2 comes in two variants – 6GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. The phone houses a 5,000mAh battery with 18-watt fast charging support, through a USB Type-C port. It runs on Android-based MIUI 10 and the company has promised to roll out MIUI 12 soon. It is reported that the device won’t come with running advertisements like the Mi and Redmi devices.
The device comes with a Dual (nano) sim + microSD card slot, which supports up to 512GB expandable storage. There is also a 3.5mm earphone jack and an infrared blaster. The Poco M2 has a P2i nanocoating for splash and rust resistance.
The Poco M2 will be available in Brick Red, Pitch Black, and Slate Blue colors. The device will be available on Flipkart on 15 September. The base variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at Rs 10,999, and the 6GB RAM 128GB storage model will be sold at Rs 12,499.
