On the other hand, film is facing protests and criticism from the right-wing organizations who are demanding a ban on PK. Director Rajkumar Hirani’s movie is being accused of disrespecting Hindu religion. The current figures show that these allegations haven’t discouraged the audience from watching the movie. Earlier Amir and Rajkumar Hirani worked together in 3 Idiots which was once the highest grossing film of Bollywood.
“I had never in my wildest dreams thought this film will cross these numbers. It reinforces faith that content is king. We can continue making films we believe in… People are watching the film over and over again. It’s humbling,” the director said in a statement.
The movie has been declared tax-free in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
