The Pirate Bay’s iconic .SE domain name is the primary method by which pirates access their favorite torrent website. However, in a surprise development, last week, the domain name was deactivated.

It seemed as the historic domain name was expired and the people were no longer able to visit the notorious website. However, as per a new report by TorrentFreak, thepiratebay.se is now operating normally and sending the visitors to thepiratebay.org.

As per the Whois record of the domain, the registration has been updated to October 2018. However, it remains unclear if the deactivation of the domain was due to some court order or something else.

Earlier this year in February, Swedish Court ruled that The Pirate Bay must be blocked for next 3 years by the local ISP Bredbandsbolaget. The court stressed that the injunction was in line with the EU law.

As noted by TorrentFreak, the above-mentioned matter is pending in Supreme Court. So, it could have been possible that the website owners were unable to change the details.

Well, for the time-being, The Pirate Bay is up and running. In case any other major development takes place, we’ll be letting you know. Keep reading Fossbytes.
