OnePlus found itself caught in a controversy after it was discovered that the color filter lens of OnePlus 8 Pro could see through clothes and some plastics. After the furor over the “see-through” camera of OnePlus 8 Pro, the company issued a statement saying that it will temporarily disable the color filter lens until the privacy-related issues are solved. OnePlus is now rolling out OxygenOS 10.5.10 to fix the Photochrom filter of the flagship smartphone.
While the company disabled the color filter in global and Chinese variants, the OxygenOS 10.5.10 update is intended for Indian market to finally put the issue to the bed.
It seems that the fix offered in the OxygenOS update has diluted the functions of the color lens filter to disable the see through effect.
This is not the only issue that plagued OnePlus 8 Pro soon after its launch. The display of the premium smartphone started suffering from green screen and black crush issues. Later, OnePlus issued an update that fixed the display issues partially.
OxygenOS 10.5.10 for OnePlus 8 Pro comes with several optimizations, including optimized battery life, improved stability while clicking photos, and bug fixes to improve the overall user experience.
Apart from that, OnePlus is set to launch its upcoming budget smartphone, OnePlus Nord, on July 21 via an AR event. The smartphone is touted to feature Snapdragon 765 with 5G support, a quad-camera setup with 48MP primary camera, and a dual selfie camera setup. It is expected that OnePlus will launch OnePlus Nord at Rs 24,999.
