After the battle of megapixels ended, the battle of zooming capabilities began and the Huawei P30 Pro amazed everyone with its 50x digital zoom. Now, we have a new competitor in the form of Oppo Reno that boasts 10x lossless hybrid optical zoom. Oppo showcased the technology at its Mobile World Congress event.
Oppo has launched two smartphones under its Reno series – Oppo Reno standard edition and Oppo Reno 10x zoom edition. The 10x zoom edition features a 6.6-inches panoramic AMOLED display and carries the Snapdragon 855 SoC inside the hood. It will be available in two RAM options – 6GB and 8GB.
Oppo has also offered a gaming performance boost by including Game Boost 2.0 acceleration engine having Frame Boost and Touch Boost.
Oppo says that it opens within 0.8 seconds and the company has ensured that it can open and close 200,000 times flawlessly. It also has a fall detection feature that retracts the pop-up selfie camera, similar to what we saw in the OnePlus 7 Pro.
In the camera department, Oppo Reno 10x zoom edition features a triple-rear camera setup carrying a 48MP primary sensor, a 13-megapixel secondary sensor that is fitted with a periscope telephoto lens and performs the 10x zoom and an 8MP super wide-angle lens.
Other specifications of Oppo Reno 10x zoom edition include 4,065mAH battery, VOOC 3.0 fast charging support, 4K 60 fps video recording with OIS and 3D surround audio capturing. The smartphone will run on Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6.0.
Oppo Reno 10x zoom is priced at INR 39,990 for the 6GB/128GB variant and the 8GB/256GB variant will be available for INR 49,990. At this price, it will lock heads with the recently launched OnePlus 7 Pro and Huawei P30 Pro. Oppo Reno 10x Zoom will be available from June 7 onwards.
