Rumors of 10GB RAM smartphones have been doing rounds for a while now. Companies like Vivo and Asus seem to be developing such a phone. But it appears Oppo will be the first one to finish the race.
A tweet by the Ice Universe has revealed pictures of a filing with TENAA (a Chinese regulatory body) which features Oppo’s next Find X variant with a massive 10GB RAM.

The current Find X model comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage, but according to Ice Universe, the next variant will have a 256GB ROM.
We have seen phones with at least 8GB of RAM such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, the OnePlus 6, and the original Oppo Find X but certainly not a 10GB one.
But the important question is whether such an unearthly amount of RAM in a smartphone even makes sense? A phone’s performance depends a lot on how it manages the memory.
However, theoretically speaking, a massive upgrade in memory might speed up things a little — especially for demanding users.
There is no word of when this phone would be released or whether it would be launched in other countries besides China. But if it gets released soon enough, Oppo’s next Find X could become the world’s first smartphone to come with a whopping 10GB of RAM.
