OnePlus has cleared the air by confirming that its first 5G phone will be released in early 2019, but it won’t be the OnePlus 7 series. This news suggests that the company has an entirely new series of phones in store for us and rumors regarding its pricing suggests it will have a new price tag.

According to GSMArena‘s sources, the new 5G phone could cost around $650 — which is $100 more than OnePlus 6T. The pricing seems fair considering that the company would be providing 5G tech in early 2019 as compared to iPhones, which will bring the 5G support in 2020.

OnePlus’ 5G phone will most likely come with the Snapdragon 8150 chipset and the X50 modem under the hood. Even if the company decides to go with X24 instead, we can be sure that the phone will come with Qualcomm parts due to their collaboration.

There are also chances of 4G-enabled OnePlus 7 seeing a hike in price, but again, it should be less than the 5G phone. To recall, the OnePlus 6T was launched at $550 with 128GB base storage.

Whereas the OnePlus 6 had a price tag starting at $530, the 5T at $500 and the 5 at $480. Therefore, we can expect a $20-$30 increase for the OnePlus 7 phone.
