When it comes to the tablet market, Apple and Samsung are the leaders for their respective target audiences. It turns out they’d get a new competitor in the form of OnePlus. Yes, the company could be working on an iPad rival powered by OxygenOS.
OnePlus Pad trademark registered
The news about a OnePlus tablet in the market comes from the fact that the company has registered a new OnePlus Pad trademark. Spotted by MySmartPrice (via XDA), the trademark is registered with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and was filed on July 1, 2021.
The OnePlus tablet device is just speculation, and the trademark doesn’t reveal what is being baked in the background.
However, OnePlus recently announced some big changes, including its merger with Oppo and improved update roadmap for its devices.
Nonetheless, the idea of a OnePlus tablet makes sense as the Chinese smartphone maker is trying to build its own ecosystem. It has got smartphones, a OnePlus Watch, OnePlus Earbuds, cloud services, etc.
Also, it goes without saying that the OnePlus Pad or whatever it will be called will breathe a new life into the Android tablet market. Hopefully, we might see a feature-packed Android tablet with a cheap price tag.
