OnePlus Opens Up Its First R&D Center in Hyderabad

Chinese smartphone company OnePlus has opened up its first-ever R&D facility in Hyderabad, India. It is specified in artificial intelligence and machine learning for its products.

The new R&D center will involve innovations which are more India-centric, for which OnePlus will bring in talent from Hyderabad itself.

Pete Lau, founder and CEO of OnePlus, said, “We plan to re-focus our R&D efforts on a large scale and drive innovations in India for the global product, especially on the software side with a special emphasis on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.”

The company also suggests that Hyderabad was chosen as the center for its R&D after critical analysis.

Additionally, the company plans to extend its Experience Center in Hyderabad which is among the growing markets for OnePlus. To recall, OnePlus already has an Exclusive Service Center in Hyderabad.

It is further suggested that OnePlus will commence Campus Hiring at various universities such as IIT Delhi and IIT Mumbai this year.

Furthermore, OnePlus has indulged in the local manufacturing of PCBs and looks forward to more ways to be a part of the ‘Make In India’ initiative. Overall, OnePlus aims to achieve long-term growth in India.
