Features and connected technology are the current names of the game, along with being a battleground where car-makers are trying to outdo each other. Hyundai lifted the bar with Creta and Alcazar having digital dials, panoramic sunroofs, air purifiers, and more in an SUV priced between 10-20 lakh. Now Mahindra has thrown in its challenger, called the XUV700, with loads of technology and its new infotainment system led by Alexa integration. We’ll test it to see if it’s good or not.
- AdrenoX and Alexa
- 360 degree Surround View
- Blind View Monitor
- Sky Roof in Mahindra XUV700
- Sony 3D Audio
- Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS)
- Forward Collision Warning & Auto Emergency Brakes
- Lane Departure Warning and Lane-keep Assist
- Adaptive Cruise Control for Mahindra XUV700

AdrenoX and Alexa

The AX variants get the AdrenoX infotainment system, and that is also enabled with Alex AI. Mahindra claims that the XUV700 will be India’s first vehicle to offer integrated Alexa AI. When we first saw the touch screen set-up, a.25-inch screen merged with digital dials of the same size. The touch screen has a simple but effective layout with neatly stacked functions.
The Alexa feature is interesting and similar to the one you are used to. Hence, with voice commands, you can listen to music, get directions, check traffic, find parking, adjust the climate control or windows. You can also open/close the sunroof too. The system understood our voice pretty well, and you can talk to it in English, Hindi, and Hinglish. Note that the XUV700 is a connected car with an e-SIM set-up and has 60 inbuilt apps too.
360 degree Surround View
The XUV700 gets a clear 360-degree view camera and a 3D rotate view. The angles are diverse and get you multiple views. Notably, the resolution is high, and the detailing is very crisp.
Blind View Monitor

When you use the indicators, the blind zone camera feed is shown, and it shows either side. Something very useful in traffic!
Sky Roof in Mahindra XUV700
Panoramic sunroofs are the norm, and the XUV700 has the largest one in its class. The dimensions measure 1360 mm in length and 870 mm in width. That makes it bigger than that of rivals.

Sony 3D Audio

While optional, the Sony 3d audio system is worth the upgrade since it has 12 speakers, including a subwoofer and 445W. It also gets digital sound enhancement which increases the sound quality. We tried the audio system, and the sound is crisp but not bass-heavy or too jarring.
Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS)

The XUV700 is the only SUV in its class to have ADAS radar-based safety features. It uses radar and cameras to detect and act if necessary.
Forward Collision Warning & Auto Emergency Brakes
The car senses a possible collision and warns you, while if the driver does not react, it will use the ABS to brake.
Lane Departure Warning and Lane-keep Assist
If the driver is shifting from the lane, it gives visual alerts, while if no action is taken by the driver, it corrects the steering on its own.
Adaptive Cruise Control for Mahindra XUV700
This is for highway use, and it lets you drive at a speed presented by you. Hence, you maintain vehicle-to-vehicle distance control. It will also slow down and stop while the Smart Pilot assist will keep the car in the center of the lane. We tried the system at Mahindra’s testing track, and it worked very well.
The XUV700 also identifies speed limits and road signs and automatically switches to low beams to improve visibility.
Personalized Speed Alerts
All cars come with speed alerts at 80km/h, but in the XUV700, you can personalize it with someone’s voice, and it could be your children, wife, friends, or parents! This will help you reduce speeding in the thought process. Then there is also the Auto Booster Headlamp set-up which switches on automatically when the vehicle exceeds 80km/h at night.
Well, that was all about Mahindra XUV700, the mixture of affordability and luxury packed with the most secure and dynamic driving experience.
