Even the sequels this year seem unusually appetizing: Tom Cruise will once again return as IMF agent Ethan Hunt. Unfortunately, we don’t have much to add to this quarter as of now, and here are the most anticipated movies of 2023 for the third quarter.
Most anticipated movies of 2023 [July – September]
1. Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One [July 14, 2023]
It’s challenging to choose another movie to take the top slot in 2023 than Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. Tom Cruise returns as IMF agent Ethan Hunt in the movie, which is once again overseen by Christopher McQuarrie. Additionally, the movie features a number of well-known actors, including Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Vanessa Kirby as White Widow, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, and Ving Rhames as Luther.
Henry Czerny reprises his role as Kittridge, Ethan’s old IMF boss, in Mission: Impossible 7. A captivating group of new cast members has also been added, including Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Esai Morales, Cary Elwes, and Indira Varma, among others. When Mission: Impossible 8 debuts on July 14, 2023, it may stand out from the rest due to the cliffhanger ending of the movie.
2. Oppenheimer [July 21, 2023]
Events always surround the release of a new Christopher Nolan film, and Oppenheimer in 2023 won’t be any different. The film chronicles J. Robert Oppenheimer’s life, who played a key role in developing the atomic bomb. J. Robert Oppenheimer is portrayed by Cillian Murphy, who is joined by a stellar ensemble cast that includes Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, and many more.
Although some of Nolan’s historical thriller will be in color, it is the first black-and-white IMAX movie ever made. After the movie’s July 21, 2023 release, Oppenheimer might be the one to finally award Christopher Nolan with the Best Director or Best Picture Oscar.
3. Barbie [July 21, 2023]
Thanks to the debut of Warner Bros.’ Barbie movie, 2023 might turn into Barbie’s world. Directed by Greta Gerwig, the film stars Margot Robbie as the iconic Mattel doll Barbie also stars Ryan Gosling as Ken and a stellar supporting cast that includes Will Ferrell, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, and Issa Rae, among others.
