Just ahead of the launch event for Microsoft’s upcoming Surface products, pictures of Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 has been leaked all over the internet.
Microsoft has already sent out invites for the event that is scheduled for October 2nd in New York City. But MySmartPrice claims it has managed to get hold of exclusive pictures of Surface Laptop 2 before its launch.
Even though the cited source says that this is the Surface Laptop 2, it is entirely possible that the device in question is a current generation Surface Laptop with a new dark color option and an upgraded Intel processor.
The leaked images feature a Surface Laptop that has a design similar to its predecessors. It is speculated that the new Surface Laptop has a faster memory and 8th Gen Intel CPU.
A significant change in the color options is the absence of Graphite Gold which came along with the previous version. Now, it seems to be replaced by a new black colored variant along with same old Cobalt Blue, Burgundy and Platinum color.
Besides this, the next-gen Surface laptop doesn’t seem to bring many changes as it has the same form factor, screen, ports, etc. The device appears to have the same 13.5-inch screen and an aluminum frame.
The Alcantara fabric-covered keyboard still holds a large touch-pad, and there are USB 3.0 Type-A port, 3.5mm headset jack, and a Surface Connect port.
In the upcoming event, Microsoft is expected to unveil new versions of Surface Studio and Surface Pro range. Even though we would love to see something as exciting as an Andromeda-powered device but that doesn’t seem to be the case this time.
Nevertheless, these leaks are to be taken with a grain of salt as the final product that is yet to be unveiled, might be different from what we are seeing right now.
